Types of Carpenter We Handle

Crown Molding Installation

Crown molding installation adds a finished transition where walls meet ceilings. We review the room, measure the runs, prepare the joints, protect nearby surfaces, and prepare the molding for paint when that finish is part of the project.

Baseboard Installation

Baseboard installation creates a durable trim line along the lower wall and can cover uneven edges near the floor. We check the wall and floor relationship, fit the sections, prepare the joints, and coordinate the finish with related painting work.

About

What carpentry changes in a property?

Carpentry improves the parts of a property that need a sound wood base. The scope may include damaged trim, cabinet refacing, small wood repairs, and new finish details that support an interior or exterior improvement. The main buyer choice is repair or replacement. Repair fits damage that leaves the wood sound and secure. Replacement makes more sense when rot, splitting, distortion, or repeated movement prevents a lasting fit. Failure often starts beneath the finish. A loose joint, uneven cut, or unprepared surface can show through fresh paint. We focus on the wood condition first, then prepare the area for the selected coating or stain.

What Carpenter Covers

Carpenter work is a building service that repairs, installs, and prepares wood features for a property.

  • Carpenter work differs from painting because it changes or restores the wood surface before the finish coat is applied.
  • Our carpenter scope includes repairs, trim, cabinets, and related wood improvements for residential and commercial properties.
Process

How we complete carpentry work

1

Review the woodwork and project goal

We meet at the property to inspect the affected area, discuss the intended use, and identify whether repair, installation, or cabinet work fits.

2

Set the scope in writing

We provide a written scope and pricing proposal that identifies the agreed carpentry work before production starts.

3

Prepare and protect the work area

We protect nearby surfaces, remove or secure affected parts, and prepare the wood so the next work step has a sound base.

4

Complete the woodwork and finish prep

We make the agreed repair or installation, check the fit, and prepare the surface for painting, staining, stripping, or coating when included.

5

Review the completed work

We complete a documented quality-control walkthrough and address agreed touch-ups before closing the project.

What to prepare before carpentry work

A few details help us assess the woodwork and plan the right repair or installation.

  • Mark the trim, cabinet, or wood feature that needs attention.
  • Keep the work area accessible for inspection and measurement.
  • Gather any finish colors, stain choices, or design references you already have.
  • Note when the damage first appeared and whether it has changed.
  • Tell us whether the work supports a larger painting or property improvement project.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

Questions about repairs, trim, and cabinet work

Who provides carpenter services in Sammamish?

PainterSammamishwa.com provides carpenter services in Sammamish for residential and commercial properties. Our scope includes wood repairs, trim installation, cabinet work, and preparation before painting or staining. We begin with a free consultation and in-home meeting. Then we provide a written project proposal that sets out the agreed scope and pricing before work begins.

What changes the cost of cabinet carpentry work?

Cabinet condition, repair scope, door alignment, hardware needs, and the planned finish affect the cost of cabinet carpentry. We inspect the cabinets and surrounding surfaces before preparing a written proposal. The estimate can account for refacing, cabinet painting, or related wood repairs when those services fit the project.

Can carpentry repairs be included with painting?

Yes, carpentry repairs can be included with related painting work when the agreed scope covers both services. Wood damage, loose trim, and poor joints need attention before paint can hide or highlight them. We prepare the surface, protect nearby areas, and coordinate the woodwork with the planned coating.

What should I do before the in-home estimate?

An accessible work area, marked damage, finish preferences, and project goals help us prepare the estimate. Please move fragile items away from the affected woodwork when possible. We’ll inspect the trim, cabinets, or repair area during the meeting and discuss the work needed before providing the written proposal.

How do you prevent repaired wood from showing through paint?

Proper surface preparation helps prevent repaired wood, joints, and fastener marks from showing through paint. We inspect the substrate, address rough or damaged areas, protect adjoining surfaces, and prepare the repair for its planned coating. The final walkthrough gives us a chance to review agreed touch-ups before closeout.

Should I repair or replace damaged trim?

Repair fits sound trim with limited damage, while replacement fits wood that is split, distorted, loose, or too damaged for a lasting fit. We check the joint, attachment points, and surrounding surface before recommending the scope. That review helps connect the wood decision with the planned paint or stain finish.

Key Points About Carpenter

  • Trim gaps can come from movement, fit, or poor joint preparation.
  • Cabinet alignment requires checking doors, frames, and attachment points together.
  • Repair suits sound wood, while distorted or split sections may need replacement.
  • A documented walkthrough addresses agreed touch-ups before project closeout.

Scenarios

When Customers Call Us About Carpenter

1

Trim Damage Before Interior Painting

A wall may be ready for paint while its trim still has dents, open joints, or loose sections. The wood must be repaired and shaped first, or the finish can make those flaws easier to see. We inspect the trim, confirm the repair scope, and include the needed preparation in the written project proposal.

2

Cabinet Doors No Longer Align

Uneven cabinet doors can result from shifted frames, worn attachment points, or damage around the opening. The right repair starts with checking the door and cabinet together, not just adjusting one hinge. We review the condition during the consultation and explain whether cabinet painting, refacing, or carpentry work best fits the project.

3

New Woodwork Needs a Paint Finish

New or repaired woodwork needs a smooth, sound surface before paint or stain goes on. Cut edges, joints, fastener marks, and old coating can affect the final look. We protect nearby areas, prepare the wood, and confirm the planned finish during the estimate so the work stays aligned with the property goals.
