Working With Our Team in Bothell

Mass-timber intumescent coating application is for projects where exposed timber needs a fire-protective coating system. The buyer needs more than a color choice. The decision includes timber condition, access, coating method, film checks, and the project documents that define the work.

This page focuses on the application itself. We prepare the timber, apply the coating by airless spray, use back rolling where the surface or coating system calls for it, and check the applied film. The service fits commercial clients and other property owners who need a planned coating assessment and written estimate.

The coating system remains the key limit. Decorative paint, ordinary stain, or a repair to damaged timber does not replace an intumescent system. We review the requested scope before preparing an estimate, so the customer knows which work belongs in the coating project.

  • Confirm which timber surfaces need the fire-protective coating.
  • Identify access needs before spraying begins.
  • Review the coating system and required application method.
  • Allow time for surface preparation and film checks.
  • Request a written estimate after the project scope is reviewed.

  • PainterSammamishwa.com provides this service in Bothell and surrounding communities.

What the coating work changes for the customer

A planned coating scope gives the owner a clearer basis for scheduling and approval.

Film checks help the crew identify application issues before the work is closed out.

Surface preparation gives the coating a cleaner base for the planned application.

Airless spraying supports an efficient application across suitable timber surfaces.

Back rolling helps address areas where the coating needs closer contact with the timber.

A final review gives the customer a clear point for discussing project details.

Process

How we apply the timber coating

1

Review timber and access

We inspect the timber surfaces, nearby finishes, access points, and requested coating scope before work begins.

2

Protect nearby work areas

We cover and protect surrounding areas before surface preparation and coating application start.

3

Prepare the timber surface

We remove surface conditions that could affect coating adhesion and prepare the timber for the selected system.

4

Apply the intumescent coating

We use airless spraying on suitable surfaces and back roll where the application calls for closer contact.

5

Check the applied coating

We check the wet film during application and review the cured coating with a dry film gauge.

6

Complete the final review

We walk through the finished work with the customer and address project details identified during the review.

What to confirm before choosing timber coating work

Confirm the coating system

The selected intumescent coating system controls the application plan, checks, and surface requirements. We review those details before estimating the work.

Plan access around exposed timber

Spraying needs a protected work area and suitable access to the timber. The customer should identify occupied spaces, nearby finishes, and access limits before scheduling.

Use the right service for the problem

Intumescent coating is the wrong job when the need is only decorative painting or structural timber repair. We can review the requested scope and explain which painting or carpentry service fits.

The scope this service is meant to handle

A commercial property owner in Bothell may need exposed timber coated before a space is opened or reworked. We review access, nearby finishes, timber condition, and the requested coating system, then prepare the work scope and estimate.

These guys did an awesome job! They have a well trained team that works closely together to get the job done on time and on budget. They also did a number of other repairs on the interior and exterior ( removed dry rot, repair drywall, etc.) before they could even start the painting. I would highly recommend them!

We had been putting off painting our house because there is never a great time to do so. After we decided to do it, we got 6 bids, some where very low, with low grade products, other very high with outrageous considerations, Jeff and his team came dead in the middle with amazing notes from the first visit, careful workmanship and with top of the line quality product. Scheduling was a breeze with Lorena make it so easy for us even with a busy schedule during the summer. The best experience we've had, we basically did not notice the team was working. They arrived every day super early, left the area pristine, and delivered a great quality outcome in the entire exterior job. We are super happy with the pain, the look and all the recommendation and fixes the team did. We will definitely work with 365Painting Solutions for all of our future painting needs. Thank you for making this experience simple and painless.

The team at 365 did a great job painting our house. They painted the full exterior of our house, including all the trim, front door, and garage doors. Their color matching was spot on, and the front door and porch trim finish is perfectly smooth. They even did a nice job with caulking as well.

Questions about timber intumescent coating work

What should I confirm before agreeing to the coating work?

The project scope should identify the timber surfaces, coating system, access plan, preparation work, and film checks. Ask which areas receive coating and how the final review will be handled. A written estimate should also describe related repairs or protection work. Those details help separate fire-protective coating work from ordinary decorative painting.

Which site conditions can change the application plan?

Access, timber condition, nearby finishes, surface contamination, and occupied spaces can change the application plan. We review those conditions before estimating the work. The review helps decide where spraying is suitable and where back rolling or added protection is needed. The project scope should reflect those findings before application begins.

When should a property owner request an estimate?

A property owner should request an estimate before setting the work schedule or closing access plans. Early review gives us time to examine the timber, discuss the coating scope, and identify protection needs. PainterSammamishwa.com offers free estimates after a consultation and project discussion. The estimate explains the planned work without assigning an unsupported price.

Why does surface preparation matter for this coating?

Surface preparation gives the intumescent coating a suitable base on the timber. Dust, loose material, or other surface issues can affect the application and review. We identify preparation needs before spraying starts and include that work in the estimate. Preparation does not replace structural repair when the timber itself needs repair.

What changes the cost of this timber coating project?

Timber access, surface condition, preparation needs, protection work, coating system, and application method change the project cost. We review those factors during the consultation and provide a free estimate. The estimate should separate coating work from carpentry repairs or other painting services. No fixed amount applies to every property.
